    CM (Cindy) Pickett Our traditional tribal name is Nakota, but the name the government gave us in colonial times was Assiniboine Sioux.

    CM (Cindy) Pickett We are kin to the Lakota and Dakota, but we were always in Canada (Alberta and Saskatchewan). I don't know if we were the toughest of warriors, but I know we fought hard to keep our land and our way of life.
